Dimon was born in New York, where he attended Browning School. He majored in economics and psychology from Tufts University, and later joined Harvard Business School for pursuing Master’s Degree in Business Management. After MBA, he joined American Express, where his father was an Executive Vice President. Dimon came into contact with Sandy Weill. Eventually, due to some power struggle both had to leave American Express, and through a series of mergers and acquisitions, they formed the largest financial corporation, Citibank.

Dimon left Citibank in 1998 and became the CEO of First Chicago Corporation. Then, he joined as the CEO of Bank One. When Bank One was purchased by JPMorgan Chase in 2004, Dimon became the President of the combined company. In 2005, he took over the position of the CEO of JPMorgan Chase.

Jamie Dimon has also served as the chairman of the Executive Committee of The Business Council, in 2011-12. Dimon has recently started sharing his professional ideologies and writing about business as a LinkedIn Influencer.
