The crowd outside Buckingham Palace cheered in excitement, as they read the notice stuck at the easel, soon after the birth of the royal baby.
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a son on Monday evening, and the royal couple seemed enchanted, on announcing the birth of their first child. The royal baby was born at 4:24 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, and weighed eight pounds, six ounces.
It is a moment of immense happiness for The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Dutchess of Cornwall, The Prince of Wales and Prince Harry and all other members of both the families.
An official bulletin outside Buckingham Palace read “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well”. A large number of people, gathered outside the Palace, were delighted at the news and erupted in cheers.
The Dutchess of Cambridge was accompanied by her husband to St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday morning.
The royal baby was born through a normal (vaginal) delivery procedure.
The parents gathered wishes from all over the world on the arrival of their first child.
The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, said, “It is an important moment in the life of our nation, but I suppose above all, it’s a wonderful moment for warm and loving couple who got a brand new baby boy”.
The Prince of Wales congratulated the royal duo, and said that the birth of the royal baby is “an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine”.
The royal grandparents are very much elated by the news of the birth of their first grandchild. “Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy”, Prince Charles said.
The world got the glimpse of the royal baby outside St. Mary’s Hospital on Tuesday evening. The baby was wrapped in white blanket and was accompanied with his parents. As they came out, Duke smiled and said, “He’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure. He’s a big boy, he’s quite heavy. We are still working on a name so we’ll have that as soon as we can”. Would it be George? Wait and see, wait and see…”
Catherine said, “It’s very emotional, it’s such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like.”
Barack and Michelle Obama gave their heartiest wishes to the royal family and said, “The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations. Given the special relationship between us, the American people are pleased to join with the people of the United Kingdom as they celebrate the birth of the young prince”.
The announcement of the arrival of new member in the royal family was followed by a written notice, giving further details about the royal baby.
The royal baby will be Queen’s third great-grandchild and 43rd sovereign since William the Conqueror, and is expected to take over the throne after Prince of Wales and Prince William.
