Daymond John is an American entrepreneur, fashion designer, TV personality and author, whose riches is estimated to be around $300 million. He is the president, founder and CEO of ‘FUBU’, a clothing and accessory brand. John is well-known for appearing as an investor in a TV series, called ‘Shark Tank’. He was born on February 23, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York.
In 1992, Daymond John founded “FUBU” and started selling woollen hats at a very cheap price of $10, along with his next-door neighbour, Carl Brown. It resulted in the sale of $800 each day. Eventually, he decided to expand his business together with his long-time friends- Keith Perrin and J. Alexander Martin, and started making FUBU logos on hockey jerseys, T-shirts and sweatshirts. FUBU earned worldwide recognition, and is now earning over $6 billion in global sales. He has also invested a whopping amount of $700,000 in Shark Tank projects.
John is best-known for appearing in a TV series, called ‘Shark Tank’. Since 2009, he has been appearing on the show as an investor, where, along with four other business executives, he listens to the business pitches from people and let them know whether or not to make investments in their projects. In April 2013, he entered into a partnership with the owner of Mission Belt Co., named Nate Holzapfel.
At present, he also makes appearances on shows, such as ‘The Game’ and ‘The Real’. He also serves as the brand ambassador for Shopify, an e-commerce company. Being a business and motivational speaker, Daymond uses to speak about entrepreneurship, negotiations and marketing. Babson College School of Entrepreneurship, AT&T’s History Makers Tour, and California First Lady Maria Shriver’s Women’s Conference are some of her current speaking engagements.
