11. Dracula’s Castle, Romania
Built almost 1000 years ago, the Bran Castle or popularly called as the Dracula’s Castle is situated in Bran, near Brasov, Romania. This fort is the national landmark and monument of Romania. The castle is often linked and associated with Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula, and hence, is also known as “Dracula’s Castle”. However, this is all to catch the attention of the tourists and maximize the acclaim of this legendary and majestic building.
It is owned by Archduke Dominic of Austria-Tuscany, and currently values around $135 million. In 2009, this huge fort was turned into a public museum, featuring antique artefacts and precious remains from the history of Romania, and collectibles of Queen Marie.
The castle offers the splendid view of the beautiful city of Brasov and is considered as one of the most expensive houses of the world.
